Urbs Musicae Ensemble (formerly Lux Musicae Ensemble) was founded in 2022 and consists of young musicians specialized in historically informed performance praxis. The members of the ensemble, Irene Callieri and Giulia Capecchi on violin and Alessandro Rispoli on harpsichord/organ, are passionate about the Italian repertoire of the 17th/18th century with a focus on the Italian  trio sonata and the music of Corelli. The group is also involved in bringing ancient organs to life by playing in church choir lofts and performing contemporary compositions composed in the Baroque style. The group participated as a finalist and won fourth prize and the audience prize at the Bonporti International Early Music Competition (Rovereto, 2022) and gave life to  Corelli Festival (Rome, 2024), dedicated to Corelli’s concerti grossi, collaborating with internationally renowned artists such as Amandine Beyer and Marco Ceccato. The ensemble members studied in prestigious European schools such as the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. The ensemble has a regular concert schedule, including Gagliano del Capo music summer (15 July 2022), Festiv’Alba (Alba Fucens, 20 July 2022), Scanno music summer (8-9 August 2022; 8-9 August 2023; 8-9 August 2024), Capranica Prenestina music summer (10 September 2022),  Galleria Borghese gli amorosi affetti (Rome, 4 November 2023) and Capodarte (Rome, aka Ensemble La Cetra Amorosa, 01 January 2024) and Salento Organ Festival (Salve, 23 August 2024).
